Hey guys,
Looking to get into brewing smaller batches (2.5 gallons) on my stove top and had a few questions. Do I need to be concerned about scorching my wort on a thinner side kettle, say 0.5mm? I am going back and forth getting one of those 5 gallon kettles from morebeer.com or a nice 20 quart tri-clad bottom, which may help with the possible scorching. Open to suggestions from experience. Also, I researched my stove top and I have a 6"/9" electric burner that has 2500W ribbon burner in it. This should be sufficient enough for bringing 3.5-4 gallons of water to a boil I am assuming, can anyone verify this? Thanks in advance for any input guys.
