I spotted this article in the BJCP exam study guide:
Wolfe, E.W., "Unbeknownst to the right honourable judge: Or how common judging errors creep into organized beer evaluations" Brewing Techniques, v. 4(2), 56-59 (1996).
Looks like an interesting read. Does anyone have a copy or know of an online source? (Unfortunately, Brewing Techniques does not publish this article.)
