I put together the mash tun per link below ( 70 qt coleman marine extreme ) and it seems like its going to work great for my first batch sparged all grain batch. No leaks from the fitting and held temp of 179.9 F after an hour it only dropped to 177.8 F I'm pretty sure that will work for me. A thanks to all that answered my noob questions too!!! This works goooooood and I highly recommend it!

You will really like the versatility of brewing all grain. You can make lighter or darker brews depending on your preference. Get a little extra grain the first few times because you will get more efficient with practice.

I'm doing an IPA. With 13lbs american 2 row, 0.5 lbs 30 L english crystal, .05 lbs cara- pils, 1028 wyeast, 1 oz perle hops, 2 oz cascade and then dry hop w/ oz cascade. I plan on a mash temp. of 155 F and a batch sparge of 170 F . What do you think?

That sounds like a very nice beer to me. Try to capture 5.5 gallons or wort so that you will have a solid 5 gallons when finished. It works out real well that way. Good Luck with that.

I did it! My first all grain!!! It took me 6 hours. I have a question, where or how can I find the my Effi. Heres my notes on the brew maybe I can get some feedback on what I did too.
1) Pre heated mash tun @7:00pm.
2)Start mashing @8:18pm used 4.5 gal water @155 F
3)Drain mash tun @9:27
4) Mash run off-1.073
5)Batched sparged for 15 min@ 170 F used 4.0 gal
6)Pre boil w/ both mash and sparge water mixed 1.072
7)9:40 pm started boil 7 gal
8)10:30pm now boiling
9)11:00 added 1 oz perle hops
10)12:15am added 1 oz cascade hops
11)12:30 added 1 oz cascade hops and cool down wort
12)After boil 1.068
13)1:00am in fermenterblow off tube on ready to go. 5 gal collected
First time using the hydrometer so hopefully I didn't mess it up. I added .0025 to the reading for every 10 degrees above 60 F

Can anyone tell me my efficiency on my brew? It looked like a good wort and my house smelled great for a day and a 1/2.

If you ended up with a gravity of 1.068 and 5 gallons, your efficiency was around 68%, which isn't that bad. For a beer that size, I probably would have collected a little more wort. That would have increased your efficiency, but it would have taken longer to boil. Sounds great for a first all-grain!

What kind of hops were you using, whole or pellet? And what was the AA% on the Perle?
