I've recently started trying to expand my little homebrew set up in order to get a better pipeline going and to age some sours. So I hit a random garage sale this weekend and got:

1 5 gal glass carboy
1 6 gal glass carboy
1 6.5 gal glass carboy
carboy cap
bottle tree w/6 rings
hydrometer and test jar (already have 'em, but backups can't hurt)
unopened bottle of campden tablets
18" spoon (again, a nice backup)

All for $25!! I was pumped.

I know it's not that big of a deal, but none of my friends brew, so I didn't have anyone to celebrate with. My wife was happy, but only because I didn't go spend $150 on new equipment. Anyways, it made for an awesome saturday.

Thats a sweet score! One of those carboys is worth 25 alone!

At least!

Shoot, I forgot, I also scored a vinator!

I celebrated by cracking open the first of a batch of Cali Pale Ale that I bottled a few weeks back. Then I realized why I'm trying to get better. It wasn't the best beer I'd ever made. Very thin, watery almost. Had a distinct "plastic bucket" taste to it. But it had great aroma, color, and head retention. Baby steps.
