about a month ago i brewed an octoberfest from extract and after 2 wks in primary,i bottled and immediatly put in fridge.as you may have guessed the beer never carbonated. is there some way to wake up the yeast again or is this batch trashed?

Find a large rubbermaid tub and place all of the bottles in to it for about 3 weeks at 70 deg.

The reason for the rubbermaid container is to prevent bottle bombs.

More often than not, you will need to let the bottles sit at room temp for a few weeks

Doing that will let the yeast eat up the remaining sugars to produce CO2

I agree with cheeto. If the yeast was healthy (it should have been at 2 weeks) it should ferment and carbonate. Bring it up to room temp and let it sit weeks.

I don't know if you need to worry about bottle bombs if you put the right amount of sugar in your batch. All you should need to do is stick them in a warm place above 70 and come back in three weeks.
