I have a WPL001 that on the first brew went crazy in the starter and fermenter. I harvested, rinsed and made another starter that went crazy and the ferment was not as active as the first, but pretty active. I rinsed and just made a starter last night. There appears to be no activity this time. I added wyeast yeast nutrient to the starter boil this time, unlike the first two, I thought it would make it go crazy.
In between rinsing and making the starter i waited 2 weeks the first time, the second about 3 weeks.
I use sterilized mason jars and rinse with sterilized water.
First beer was an ipa 6 abv 2nd was a stout about 7 abv.
