Ok, so could anyone out there tell me how you figure out the SG (with alc.) using a refractometer & Promash? I know one of my LHBSs said it could be done but I don't know how... a little help... thanks!

Try http://byo.com/feature/1132.html
For the O.G. it's very simple. Multiply the refractometer reading by 4 then add 1 to get an approximation. With Promash, you can go to the efficiency calculator, and simply enter the degrees plato it the box marked plato. It instantly calculates the gravity. This is slighltly more accurate than multiplying by 4.
I wouldn't try using it for a F.G reading as the math gets horribly complicated, and the accuracy suffers I still use a hydrometer to take the F.G. when I need to.

Hope this helps.
