I'm hoping for a "quicker" brew day today - doing a half batch BIAB all on the stove top. It's a Belgian Wit - 3# pils, 3# flaked wheat and .5# flaked oats.
How much more water should I expect all these flaked grains to soak up?

Normally it wouldn't be an issue - I'd just keep running off sparge until I hit my preboil volume, but it's going to be a little different today since I'm doing a BIAB.

I do have the capacity to do an "initial mash" in one pot and a "sparge soak" in another pot, so maybe I will just fill the 2nd pot with more water than I probably need. Then just add that sparge water until I hit my preboil volume?

thanks
