hey fellas why is it when i use the irish ale yeast i have more stuff on the top of my carboy.. i recently did a a red ale and used the irish ale yeast and i had almost a inch of yeast i beleive floating on the top in my carboy.. just wondering why the dry package yeast dont do this?? thanx

Do you mean the foamy-looking stuff on top of the beer while it's fermenting? That's krausen, it's perfectly normal. Dry yeast should've done that too, though.
