I realize 5 gallons is too small, but there's one similar at my work that I think is bigger and unused. One of the signs you're a homebrewer right?.....look at everything in terms of "can I use that to make beer?"
The one in question at work has a sealing lid that has an O-ring on the seal and a few latches, and has a spigot 9/10 down or so- but not on the very bottom, the bottom is like a bowl( not conical). Basically I was thinking if you cut the bottom out and welded a cone on you'd almost have a working conical right there, what do you guys think?

With a little welding, it could be a nice conical. But that is beyond the realm of most people's abilities; more power to you if you can!

It might make a decent brew-pot, too.

And I think it's a sign of being a DIY'er.......who like to brew :D.
