Stainless Head Mag Drive Little Giant Pump-Grainger

...for $145.

Anybody got positive or negative info on this? Seems too good to be true....it has the Ryton, 1/25 hp, 1/2 mpt, 6 foot cord, bracket....brand name....

I was told that Grainger had a SS head pump for a comparable price to the March, not sure this is it. Paper catalog I saw at work said SS head; online catalog does not specify stainless....online price is a little more ($159) but I found a cheaper place...

Looks like a fantastic pump to me. Little Giant pumps are pretty fantastic performance wise, and will last you a good long time. The price on a comparable plastic head version is about $120-30 iirc, so it makes sense that the SS version is $20-30 more.

Here's the important bit I'd gleam from grainger's site:

Wort falls within those bounds; I think it should be OK.

I'd just find the cheapest supplier, myself.

I'm a little worried about the 200ºF limit. I like to recirculate my boiling wort to sanitize the chiller.

What I was thinking-March's is 250°, but I see a lot of people mention Little Giant pumps and brewing, so I wonder if I am just looking at the wrong model...

These pumps have Ryton (polyphenylene sulfide plastic) heads not SS heads which is why they are only rated to 200 F.

Good catch there. Yeah, ignore everything I said earlier if it is indeed non stainless .
