I am brewing a double IPA. The recipe calls for dry hopping. After racking from the primary (6gal) to secondary (5 gal), I had an extra .5 gallon left over. I racked the remaining beer to a glass growler. When I go to bottle, can I combine the 5 gallon beer with the other 1/2 gallon? Or should I prime the 1/2 gallon and bottle it separately?

Thanks

Provided you're sure that everything was sanitary, and you have a way to airlock the growler, I don't see why you couldn't combine them in the bottling bucket.

...or bottle the contents of the growler separately to see how the dry-hopping affected the beer! There's always something to learn in brewing.

Hi All,

I agree with bsay. Use it as a learning experience...

ps - I realize some of these treads are reeeeelly old but a noobie can read them at anytime so the questions are still valid. :)
