It probably comes down to price. There's no real advantage to having a clear bucket. At least not one that a lot of people would be willing to pay more for. Consider the price difference between an HDPE bucket and a Better Bottle. Better Bottles are about double the price. There's no real difference between a Better Bottle and a bucket in terms of the way they are manufactured. In fact the bucket probably costs more in labor because it has a handle. The biggest difference is raw materials. Buckets are made out of HDPE, which doesn't come in clear by the way. Better Bottles are made of PET, which can be polished clear, but is a more expensive raw material.
