Czech Pils AG

9.5 Germ Pils Malt
.25 Carahell Weyermann

1 oz Perle at 60
1 oz saaz at 30
1 oz saaz at 15

saflager-23

This is my first lager. I'm doing it at my dad's place. He ordered this kit from Northern Brewer.
I'm thinking of changing the saaz to 20 min and 5 min. Any objections? I'm at my dad's place and I dont have my beersmith. What should I use for a mash schedule. I can't step mash either. I'm thinking of 152 but I dont know how many gallons for the mash.

would changing the hop schedule like that detract from the style. I'm an ale brewer so I'm not really sure how a lager should be hopped. Personally on an ale I never put any additions between the bittering and 20 minutes from the end of hte boil. But I'm not so sure that's a good rule of thumb with this style. Anyone?

I dunno about to style but mine is;

10 Gallons (90 Min Boil)
Pilsener 100% @ 1.040

0.60 BU:GU
Saaz (FWH) 30%
Saaz (90 Min) 30%
Saaz (15 Min) 20%
Saaz (5 min) 10%

Med body Single Infusion (152*F IIRC)

I am going for a lot of in your face Saaz.

Both are within the style for Bohemian Pilsner.

I didn't adjust for equipment, so add 5 degrees.
