I racked my latest creation to the secondary last night, and had planned on washing the yeast, the first time I have ever tried this. However, before I could begin, a family matter came up, and I had to delay.
Since I did manage to seal the fermenter over night, is the yeast still good for washing, or has it been too long, and wait until the next batch ?

The only beer left on top was what I couldn't siphon off. I hope that's enough.

i usually sanitize a quart jar and lid while i siphon from primary to secondary and when the siphon is done i swirl the primary to loosen the yeast sediment then pour into jar and seal it with lid. then put it in the frig till i have the time to finish. has worked well so far.
note i wipe the rim of the primary bucket down with a cloth soaked in sanitizer and keep the jar sealed till i am ready to pour the yeast in
