I have a 8 gallon SS brewpot with a custom false bottom (not sure of brand I think "Megapot"), and it is well made and fits well, but I still get hops in the ball valve.

Would it be feasible to get high temp silicone ring to "seal" it around the edges for a tighter fit and ensure only the small particles get through the screen? I don't mind a little traub but since starting to use lead hops, I find it gets clogged (a 1/2" ball valve and tube).

Anyone have an idea on sources if something like this is already sold?

TIA

A guy @ Austin homebrew supply mentioned something like this to me. He said to use 3/8 hose. (I think that's the size) and cut it long ways and wrap around the false bottom to create a suction and prevent scratching the MLT.

Hope it helps.
