I'm a newbie here on this huge forum so please, beer with me.

I started extract homebrewing over 10 years ago and nearly forgot everything about it until last year when I went back to my original brew shop in Long Beach, CA. I have since discovered many other local homebrewers and with their help, have made some pretty decent brews.

I frequent a couple of local breweries like Bootleggers and The Bruery. My inspiration are Pliny the Elder and Hoptimum. I find that by just making the simpliest extract recipe and dry hopping it like crazy(4oz or more in a 5 gal carboy), I get an IPA which is better that most store bought.

Funny thing is, I use to hate IPA's because of the bitterness. Pliny changed my life around when I first tried it. Now, it's all I really care to make or drink.

To my fellow unknown homebrewers, brew on!
