It should take the same amount of time given the same constants.
As for a 5 gallon batch the way to tell if it's done is with an hydrometer.
As for will it take 3 weeks then that depends on method, recipe and conditions.

I think you're confusing '1 week in the primary' (which is JUST an average estimate) with '3 weeks in the bottle' to condition and carb the beer.
as orfy correctly states, it should really take the same amount of time unless you pitch an ungodly amount of yeast, which can cause off flavors if you go too far overboard.

leave it in the fermenter for two weeks and bottle for 3 weeks
