Want to learn how to brew your own beer?
Have a hankering to brew your own beer, but haven’t a clue how to do it?
Help is at hand.
In honor of Learn to Homebrew Day, Fredericksburg Brewing Insiders will initiate neophytes into the homebrewer ranks by offering free lessons in how to homebrew beer and bottle it from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 6 at Blue & Gray Brewing Company in Spotsylvania County.
Participants also will have the chance to see different homebrew set-ups and equipment and talk to homebrewers. They also can munch on hot dogs, chile, chips and any snacks they bring.
Learn to Homebrew Day got its start in 1999, when the American Homebrewers Association established Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day as an international event to introduce people to the homebrewing hobby. This year, the association has changed the name from Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day to Learn to Homebrew Day to better reflect the nature of the event.
For details about the local event, call: The Brew Shop at The Natural Path, 540/891-6200; Rod Bergquist, 540/842-4807; or e-mail [email protected].
