I have a Choc Malt Stout I'll be brewing soon and want to use this as my (gulp!) stepping stone to making a starter and using liquid yeast! My plan is to brew, then split the wort into 2 - 3 gal carboys, using liq White Labs in one and Mutons dry in the other. Seems the majority say liq with a starter is the way to go but I'd like to be able to compare.

Do I need to only use half the yeast per carboy? Will I screw it up using what I normally would for 5 gal? Opinions?
