Evening all,

Did a bit of searching and haven't been able to find an answer to my question. So here I post the follow.

What is the limit for volume of CO2 that a standard 12oz bottle with a standard crimp on cap can handle?

Looking at doing a Beligian Golden Strong Ale and it is highly carbonated. Just wondering what the limit these things can hold.

Thanks in advance for the help!

It really depends on the bottle. An old bar bottle will hold more pressure than the throw away kind. Also PETE or PET bottles will generally hold more pressure than a throw away type.

Consider collecting bottles of Duval Belgian Ale they should probably be fairly strong.

I use cornie kegs because I also like highly carbonated beer and with a rating of 120 PSI for most cornies I don't have to worry about it.
