I am brewing a american barleywine this weekend ,and I am considering using a Wyeast 1056 and a Safale US-05 together , I haven't been able to find a post on anyone doing this and being new to brewing I am wondering if this might not be a good idea? Thanks

It's the same yeast, so I don't see much point in using both. I would just make a starter but if you don't want to then go for it and throw Both in.

I've through at least both of them in because you're going to be under pitching by quite a bit if you don't.

I'd check out mr. Maltys pitching calculator and pitch the recommended amount of dry us05 packets, which is probably two... You'll save some money and not have to deal with some massive starter for liquid yeast on a beer that big.
