- Subtle, nuanced, and refreshing
5.0 lbs Maris Otter
2.0 lbs wheat malt
1.0 lbs Carapils
0.2 oz Warrior @ 16.7%
Mash at 149 for 90 minutes, batch sparged to collect 7 gallons.
1 can Oregon fruit puree (peach) added after gravity finalized, added 1.5 oz LD Carlson peach flavoring at bottling, carbed to 2.4 volumes.
My mother loves Four Peaks Arizona Peach ale, so when I got my hands on some, I decided to do her one better. First brewday, boil ran long (did I pass out on the couch and top it off with chilled filtered water after I reawoke after a 4 hour boil? Maybe). 2 days into primary, the airlock popped off and was replaced by my brew partners roommate with no liquid in it. So quite a few things went wrong, but is the resulting beer still excellent? I think so and my mother still loves the stuff, but we'll find out after Bluebonnet Brew Off. NTXHB all the way, and my first entry into competition!
