I 1st want to say that HBT is amazing. I have been reading just about everything that I can get into and blown away at the wealth of knowledge that is here.

I jumping to AG and I figure the best route would be doing a SMaSH as my 1st AG brew. I am intrigued at sampling the individual grains and hop combos.

After checking out what is available LHBS I settled on Vienna and Cascade as my 1st attempt.

This is the recipe I came up with, please tell me what you ‘all think.

This is a smash I was thinking about trying too. Are you trying for a general style such as an American Pale Ale?

The bitterness is pretty low unless you want that and are you sure the Cascades are 4.5%, that is fairly low for recent crops too. I would just go with a .75oz addition for each one and probably do a dry hop too.

Yeah nothing fancy American Pale Ale would be a close style match.

Your right the Cascades are 6.3% good eyes

I was going for a more balance taste, but looking at it again it could stand to be a bit hoppier. My expirence with these 2 have been combinations in a cream ale and honey brown I made (besides tasting the grain and hop pellet when I was brewing) i really never had a beer with soley these two alone.

Here it is reconfigured correcting the hops
