I scored this side by side fridge on CL for free a couple weeks ago. I just finally had the time to put in a couple shelves, built from salvage wood scraps.

I plan to install a stainless faceplate with 4-5 taps, co2 and (eventually) nitro. Should hold +20 gallons. Total cost should be about $400.

More pics to come!

Any thoughts of building a fermentation chamber on the fridge side and a serving fridge on the freezer side?

I have done this. I would fit 3 or 4 kegs in the freezer side and than have some beers fermenting on the fridge side. The difference in temperature was around 20 degrees from side to side.

Update: received my Kegerator kit from kegconnection :) started a bit of assembly. Pretty excited.ImageUploadedByHome Brew1388911131.086448.jpgImageUploadedByHome Brew1388911146.930156.jpgImageUploadedByHome Brew1388911157.884854.jpgImageUploadedByHome Brew1388911170.529683.jpg

Where you using temp control on both sides?

DMarc- Are you going to be fermenting at all in there, or just serving? Looks good.

No fermenting. I have chilled glasses in the freezer side and up to 6 kegs (2 force carbing) in the refrigeration side.

Also as you can see in this pic, I've installed the drain line through the door and into an empty jug hiding on the lower door shelf.

Now I just need to add beer, all I have is sanitizer on draft right now :)
