So I have been lurking around for a little bit, gotten a few recipes from on here and currently have my 4th batch of AG fermenting now. A good friend has been helping me out as well getting started.

This is my first attempt at my own recipe, and at a clone. I am trying to clone my favorite DIPA.

OG: 1.090
FH: 1.023
IBU: 90.7
ABV: 8.8

Grain Bill:
14 lb 10 oz - 2 Row
1 lb 12 oz - Caramel Munich

Hop Schedule:
2 oz. Warrior @ 55 min
1 oz. Williamette @ 15 min
1 oz. Cascade @ 15 min
1 oz. Williamette @ 10 min
1 oz. Cascade @ 10 min
1 oz. Williamette @ 5 min
1 oz. Cascade @ 5 min
1 oz. Williamette @ 0 min
1 oz. Cascade @ 0 min
1 oz. Williamette Dry Hop (7 days from kegging)
1 oz. Cascade @ Dry Hop (7 days from kegging)

Yeast: US-05 American Ale (1 packet)

I found very little info on this beer via a search on here. Most of what I got was based off what I found on Stoudts website (they pretty much spell out the ingredients for you)

Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah. 5 gal batch.
5 gal mash at 156 (60 min)
4 gal sparge at 172
60 min total boil

I am not too sure on these numbers, but thought I'd give it a whirl. I am not using any brewing software yet. I cheated a little with brewmasters brewbuilder to help get my alcohol and ibu where I wanted them.

This is my stab at it:

Recipe Gravity 1.097 OG
Estimated FG 1.024 FG
Recipe Bitterness 105 IBU
Alcohol by Volume 9.4%
Recipe Color 12 SRM

16.00 lb American two-row
3.00 lb American Munich

Quantity Hop Type Time
1.50 oz Warrior Pellet 90 minutes
0.50 oz Willamette Pellet 15 minutes
1.00 oz Cascade Pellet 15 minutes
0.50 oz Willamette Pellet 10 minutes
1.00 oz Cascade Pellet 10 minutes
0.50 oz Willamette Pellet 5 minutes
1.00 oz Cascade Pellet 5 minutes
0.50 oz Willamette Pellet 0 minutes
1.00 oz Cascade Pellet 0 minutes

Dry hop with 2oz Cascade and 1oz willamette for 7 days.

Pitch 2 packs of US-05 yeast.

Mash at 150-151 so you can dry this out as much as possible. This is a pretty big grain bill so you don't want to wind up with an overly sweet beer (although this beer does still have a bunch of body to it...maybe upping the munich would combat it drying out like crazy.....anyone?)

You'll definitely want to use 2 packs of yeast so they can be healthy and jump right in and start working.

Can anyone who has brewedthe Stoudts IIPA clone let me know how close they have come to the original? There really is very little if any info out there on this one. Stoudts on the sweeter malty side in my opinion. Let me know your thoughts please? Looking to find this clone.
