I'm new to the parti-gyle concept, but I get it. Basically using the decreasing O.G. to create a lighter beer. What I'm wondering is whether I can simply up my grain bill, maybe almost double it, and do something like a strong IPA and a lighter beer, maybe a lager, by lautering into two pots and using different hops and yeast? I don't see why I couldn't even control the O.G. by mixing the runoff selectively. It sounds pretty straight forward. Do you guys see any potential problems? Does this make sense? Any particular styles this would work better with?
