This is a real gem of beer history - Martyn Cornell is one of the most recognized beer historians in England - tells the story of the evolution of the British pint from the Celts/Picts through to the modern day. It's not a recipe book, but a valuable addition to any brewer's library who has interest in history as I do.
It can be pricy, but used copies can be had on Amazon if you're patient. I think I paid $12 shipped for mine.
