Thought this might be a fun thread... and it will help me out a lot. I've been brewing for several months now and the addiction keeps getting worse. I'm a little stuck as far as what to try next... as I want to try something different than what I've brewed so far. So what's a GREAT recipe that you'd say everyone should try at least once?

So far I've brewed: an American cream ale, an American amber ale, a Bell's Two Hearted clone (IPA), an English pale ale (Common Room ESB- from HBT), a hoppy American wheat (similar to Gumball Head), an Altbier (Kaiser Alt- HBT), a mildy hoppy American pale ale, a Belgian blond, and a hefe (currently fermenting).

I'm interested in trying an oatmeal stout... I also love Anchor Steam and haven't tried anything like that. Oh- and I'm definitely crazy about Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald. I also love just anything Dogfish Head (so lots of room for anything lighter, darker, anywhere in between). So please... someone convince me to brew something wonderful. OH AND- I don't have the capability to lager right now. Thanks in advance!

I think I saw a Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout clone recipe floating around on the web somewhere; that's always been a favorite of mine.

BierMuncher's Black Pearl Porter is phenomenal, give it a shot! There's a link in my sig.

Looks interesting. May give it a shot! I've never used lactose or malto-dextrin. I have used cara-pils... that's somewhat similar to malto-dextrin, right?
