I presume the "float" in a king keg top tap floats on top/slightly submerged of the beer during secondary fermentation and if so then the presssure from the gas pushes it through the float to the tap. If this assumtions are correct then wouldn't a injection of gas push the beer to the tap? which it does not do in my case. Any Ideas?

The idea is to rack to the king keg after secondary.

If you are priming for carbonation then the initial flow should come from the natural carbonation pressure, then it needs topping up with gas.
