I was brewing on the weekend and made a real nice high gravity wort and noticed it seemed to produce some solid material during the boil. Not sure what this is all about but I've seen it happen before and doesn't seem to ruin the beer.

I think it must be proteins or some other soluble material precipitating out of the wort during the boil.

Anybody, have an explanation for this?

Does it resemble this? If so, it is the cold break, the proteins coming out of suspension... nothing to worry about at all.
