I'm planning a Parti-gyle from BigKahuna's https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f68/reindeer-fuel-stout-75249/ but I'm wondering what the second runnings will turn out like, and what to cap with to make it a noticeably different beer. OG is 1.071, but mash runnings will be less than that because of the lactose addition. Should I add a lb or two of base grain to compensate or just aim for a low gravity session beer? Too many things are running through my head right now, but I think there could be a really good second beer in the makings.
