I am in the middle of a brew sculpture build. I am in the process of switching from a high pressure manual system to a low pressure automated system. I purchased a 11" WC (non-adjustable) propane regulator with auto change-over. I plan to have the MT and HLT controlled, the question is, how do I fine tune the flames on the burners without multiple regulators. I noticed on Brutus 10 that Lonny is using valves to adjust the flame. Are they ball valves, needle valves etc. I want to independently control the flame on each of the three burners, but I want to use only one regulator. Thanks in advance.

If you are going automated have a look at https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/gas-temperature-control-dummies-116632/. I believe a simple ball valve would do the trick.

I use 1/2" gas ball valves on my rig and they work fine for controling my burners. I use low pressure propane jet burners, the same ones Lonny uses. If you need to control the flame on a pilot light I would use needle valves (its the only thing I would change on my rig).

If you brew outdoors, I would use an intermittent burner for safety.
