has anyone brewed a hop focused beer using this strain?

I know it's know for well bodied rich malty flavor which is why i used it for my oktoberfest.

i'll be kegging/lagering my okt this weekend and was going to brew and IPA, I'm now heavily considering brewing it as an IPL and using the yeast from the okt instead of ale yeast.

i know it may not let the hops shine like 1056 etc but wondering if it will mute them too much?

plan will be something like:

OG 1.065
IBU ~100

7# 2row
4# pilsner
1# home toasted malt (325° for 20min)
mash at 149/150

wyeast 2308 slurry
ferment at 50°, lager for 5weeks @34°

1oz Amarillo FWH
1oz Nelson 20min
1oz Simcoe 20min
1oz Simcoe 10min
1oz Nelson 10min

1oz Each Simcoe, Nelson, Nugget Aroma Steep 30min ~ 160°

Keg Dry hop #1
1oz each Simcoe, Nelson, Nugget @2weeks into lagering, leave for ~4weeks

Keg Dry Hop #2
1oz each Simcoe, Nelson, Amarillo, Citra @4weeks into lagering, leave until keg is kicked

Did you ever brew this? If so, how did it turn out?

Just started a batch with 2308 and would have a nice big yeast cake for something like this.
