So far this year I have had almost half of my bines chewed off as they have reached around 6 feet tall. Last year I had no such problems. I have attached a photo to see if anyone has any ideas what critter/bug is my problem.
What is eating my bines?

Ah...revision A: I thought that might have been slug damage but that's not it.
Something actually whacked at that stem.
