- Banana/Clove aroma. One of Germany\'s Most Famous Hefe-Weizen.
1.05 lb. German Pilsner
2.41 lb. Wheat malt
2.52 lb. Dry Wheat extract
3.33 lb. Liquid Wheat extract
1.54 oz. Hallertauer (4.3% AA, 60 min.)
In large soup pot heat 4.5 qts of water @169 F. Add crushed grains to grain bag and steep in water @ 158 F for 45 min. While steeping, heat 2.5 gal of water in brew pot. When steep is complete remove grain bag and place in colander. Take 1.5 qts of water from brew pot and and to grain tea in soup pot. Place colander over brew pot and pour deluted grain tea over grain bag. Bring brewpot to a boil and add in dried extract and hops. With 15 min left in boil turn heat off and add in liquid malt extract to brew and stir in very good. Resume boil. Cool brew and add to fermenter and top off to 5.5 gallons. Aerate and pitch yeast. Rack to secondary when fermentation is complete for 3-5 days(until beer falls clear). Bottle and enjoy!!
