I want to brew the Blood Orange Hefeweizen recipe found in Extreme Brewing by Sam Calagione. However, I don't want to brew it until Summer and blood oranges are only in season in the winter months (at least that's what I think).

Was wondering if I could buy the oranges now and freeze for summer? Any tips or tricks. I was going to freeze the peels but the resipe calls for chunks of the orange to be added.

You could certainly cut up the oranges and freeze them. I often buy fruit when it is in season for beers I'm planning on brewing. A Foodsaver (or any vacuum sealer) is a good way to keep the fruit relatively fresh while it is in the freezer. Good luck.
