I bottle my beers by transferring jugs of fermented beer from my FV and filling bottles via a plastic funnel. I read on this forum that even air bubbles in a syphon line from carboy to bottles can adversely affect the brew, is the effect that noticeable, as I have been bottling like this for 40 years.

It oxidizes the beer. I've only been brewing for a while, but I've always heard that you want to use a siphon and/or a bottling bucket with a spigot.
