I am trying to brew a blonde ale with lots of hops flavor, but, not too bitter. I really liked Northern Brewer's Chinook IPA so I modified their recipe to drop the OG and IBUs.
Here is what I have so far:
7# 5oz. 2-row
8 oz. Caramel Pils
3 oz. Caramel 60
0.34 oz. Chinook (11.4% AA) @ 30 minutes.
0.33 oz. Chinook (11.4% AA) @ 15 minutes.
0.33 oz. Chinook (11.4% AA) @ 5 minutes.
0.33 oz. Chinook (11.4% AA) @ 0 minutes.
0.67 oz. Chinook (11.4% AA) @ dry hops for 1 week.
I already purchased the ingredients. But, there are 2 oz. of Chinook I can move around.
@75% efficiency brewpal predicts 1.044 OG.
Tinseth predicts 20 IBU.
Does this recipe sound foolish?
Another recipe I really like which I would like to emulate is Citra Blonde by Widmer Brothers. That beer has tons of hop flavor but is not bitter at all. Will I get something like that with this?
