Sooner or later I would like to make a system where I can pump my hot water/sparge water into my mash tun and them from my mash tun into my kettle then into the fermenter. What would be a good cheap pump to use? Can I use an awuarium pump or any type or water pump for that matter? Also could I use this pump with some sort of sparge arm and just controls the flow with a valve or would that potentially burn the pump up from being so restricted?

^^ those are not cheap.
I have 6 of these and they work great for me... I only use three but upgraded from the 12v versions to the more powerful 24v versions. I have done the research and pulled them apart , they are truly food grade and theres lots of threads on them including the "cheap wort pump" thread if you use the search function here. they pump between 2-3 gallons per minute depending on setup.

@augiedoggy--

Do you think those pumps would work for larger batches (30 gal plus)???
I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a pump for my electric build and really like the idea of NOT spending $150+ a pump.
