Is there a thread somewhere with a compilation of good homebrew reads? I see a few posts here and there with recommended books about brewing, but difficult to find them altogether. Is there enough literature out there to warrant a sticky for readers?

If you go to the reviews section and look at the miscellaneous section there are a bunch of book reviews.

I've done some reading in several homebrew forums, but as far as any extended reading, I would probably just recommend the standard literature:

How to Brew by Palmer

or, if you prefer: Joy of Homebrewing by Papazian

Either is a good comprehensive overview of homebrewing; read 'em both, but I'm a Palmer man, myself.

From there, I'd suggest:

Clone Brews by Szamatulski(s)

Designing Great Beers by Daniels

I've found the former instructive, but I've actually brewed more of the clones listed in HBT's Recipes section.

I got Designing Great Beers for Christmas, but I'm not ready for that stage yet, and maybe never.....
