I've read in many places that 3/4 cup of priming sugar is sufficient for a 5-gallon batch of beer. Why, then, is priming sugar sold in 5 oz. packages? Isn't 3/4 cup technically 6 oz? What am I missing?

Thanks!
Andrew

In Canada we get them in Kilogram bags...... but with that said I always use a full cup atleast to prime - I like my carbonation. Although as one of my friends put it - 'the bubbles in your beer look like they are on crack' lol
