SWMBO pointed out last night that since hops are what get skunked and there aren't hops in cider, does it need to be kept in the dark? Just curious.

Thanks!

I keep all my wines in the dark too- I can't remember exactly where I learned to do that, but I do remember being told to keep them out of the light. I don't think red wines would be hurt much, but white wines and ciders should be kept in the dark. I remember being told "a cool, dark place" but why, I can't remember!

Even though cider doesn't skunk, UV can breakdown critical flavors. With red wines, it can actually bleach them.
