Would that recipe happen to be the CYBI Oskar Blues Gordon clone recipe?

(I was just putting that one in BrewBuilder last night...I went with crystal 40.)

That would take care of the color, but not necessarily the flavor.

Although the difference in flavor between 40 and 45 is probably not very great.

One could always get out the old TI-82 and figure out percentages of 40L and 60L to make a 45L crystal mix.

While I understand the funny (especially the Ti-82) There are bigger flavor differences between 40 and 60.

Once when I was a newbie I needed 60 and a LHBS said I could buy 120 and just cut in in half . . . . . . . Rrrrrright!!! LOL

since 40L and 60L are the most prominent I would just rock like 75% 40L and 25% 60L should get you close enough. I have made similar recipes that called for 45L and just used 50 or 60 instead... its a recipe they are made with very fuzzy borders, alter at will!!!!
