I remember reading on here that someone was having issues with air in their auto siphon right where the racking cane connected to the hose. It caused air bubbles and slow flow. I had the exact same thing today and I THINK it is caused not by an air leak ,but by a trapped bubble..I pinched the hose right at the connection to move the bubble and viola.....flow smoothed right out and no more bubbles.

I had the same issue awhile back. I found that if I put the hose further onto the racking cane, it solved the issue.

I've just started putting a few wraps of electric tape around the junction so it can't suck air.
