Found this on the kitchen counter when I got up from my nap before the UFC.
Daughter is in medical school and her lab professor is a home brewer. He gave her one of his flasks to give to me....SCORE!!! Now I have a 1000ml AND a 2000 ml :ban:

Awesome!!!!!

I have to figure out a need for those.

For now, I make starters in my primary when I am not re-using yeast.

Yea, starters. I made a stir plate and bought a stir bar off ebay. The 1000 ml is good for most beers 1.050 to 1.060 but a bigger beer needs a bigger starter.

Youtube has some good videos on making a stir plate out of a computer fan and a magnet out of a hard drive. Can also get rare earth magnets off ebay, even found em at my local hobby store, 4 for 2.50. The stir plate I made has done a good job but i think the next one I make will have a bigger fan and a bigger box to fit the 2000 ml flask better.

Nice! I've got a 6 liter erlenmeyer that is the BOMB for big starters and/or experimental batches.
