welp, i've got my first IPA in the primary and have ordered the stuff needed (including another fermenter - better bottle, figure that's ok?) for brewing Edwort's haus pale ale extract version......got in my mind a summer brew i just saw too.....

having said that, i'm tinkering w/ an old ale in a Christmas version.....just wanted some input. here's what i've done on the initial/tentative version via beertools free caculator:

0.5 lbs. Crystal Malt 120°L
0.25 lbs. American Black Patent
9 lbs. Dry Amber Extract
1.5 oz. Cascade (Whole, 5.50 %AA) boiled 60 min. info
1 oz. Fuggle (Whole, 4.75 %AA) boiled 30 min.
1 oz. Fuggle (Whole, 4.75 %AA) boiled 10 min.
2 teaspoons cinnamon (not included in calculations)
Yeast : White Labs WLP002 English Ale

this scored a 100% - for a newby, that seems good:D

anyhow, what i'm looking for is an old ale w/ a cinnamon/sugar cookie backbone or even a cinnamon roll.

i've read about soaking cinnamon sticks in vodka and dumping them in at some point, but not sure when........

anyone have any thoughts on the recipe in general and what i'm after, along w/ how/when to add the cinnamon - if at all?????

thanks, and damn, this is addicting, gator
