So I am getting some equipment for Christmas to get back into brewing, and I have logged enough Extract/Specialty time that i am moving straight into pratial mash thanks to Deathbrewer's inspirational thread and pictorial. I was going to an oatmeal stout, but I decided something simpler would be better for my first batch in over a year and a half.

Going to do an American Pale

Here is the recipe I threw together...

Grains:
3.5 lbs Pale Ale
1 lb Crystal 40L
.5 lb Biscuit
.5 lb Victory

Extract:
3.5 lbs Gloden DME (or however much I need to add to get the right Pre-boil gravity)

Hops:
1 oz Centennial @ 60 min
.5 oz Cascade @ 30 min
1 oz Cascade dry-hopped

Yeast:
California Ale

OG 1.054-FG 1.013 5.4% ABV

Fermentation:
Primary until krausen drops then secondary for two weeks and bottle condition

Any thoughts...comments...suggestions?

I JUST use extra pale DME as far as extracts.

I feel that all flavor beyond 2 row should come from from grains.

Looks good!
