sanitation with tap water ?

going to brew my first batch this weekend and just getting everything ready, one question is I got a bottle of star san. is it ok to just use tap water (county not well) or do I need bottled water for that as well, sorry for the dumb question:drunk:
 
I even use tapwater to top off an extract batch with great results. (I get mine from the fridge door which is filtered)
 
If you use distilled water folks say it lasts longer, but it shouldn't make any difference in the immediate sanitizing properties.
 
It does last longer for me with distilled water. I guess it depends on your water profile.
