Heh, first non-beer thread post... nice. So the ladyfriend and I are growing some veggies outside -- in a kiddie pool. We're seeing some distinct tiny versions of vegetables forming and I got to thinking:

We use FoxFarm plant food, which is friggin amazing. Do we need to flush the plants with only water for a week before we harvest so we don't end up with squash with a hint of plant food? We've used FoxFarm before for *ahem* other crops and it needed to be flushed.... but veggies?

i always use fertilizers sparingly. I would say yes, the usually recommendation is to flush your soil with craploads of water after 2 weeks of fertilizing to prevent the build up of salts, so just as a general practice I would flush before harvesting.
